Simon Harvey
Chairman & CEO

Simon is the founder and largest shareholder of Nomis Power Corp. and Rupert Peace Power Corp. He has built a privately held construction business into a very successful enterprise. He is owner of a wood manufacturing business and sawmill operation and builds, and develops properties, in Whistler, Victoria, Comox and Pemberton. Through his real estate and construction company holdings, Simon currently owns many properties throughout British Columbia. He received a Building Technologist diploma from George Brown College (Toronto) in 1992. He attended Concordia University from 1987 to 1990 in Montréal for Commerce with a Minor in Urban Planning. Mr Harvey became involved in renewable power in 2000 and has worked since then in developing his renewable energy interests.

 

Martin Mullany
Director

Martin is a graduate of London University. He worked in financial services from 1984 to 2008 and was a founding shareholder and director of Brooks Macdonald, a boutique fund management company. Brooks Macdonald was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2005. In 2000, Martin founded a company in Mauritius dealing with a limited number of wealthy families across the globe. The business was sold in private transaction in 2008. Martin was engaged as a consultant to assist RPPH with strategy in 2008 and became a director in 2009.

 

Shawn Thomas
Senior Vice President

Shawn Thomas has over twenty years of executive leadership experience in both the public and private sectors, primarily in the energy and telecommunications industry. Past public service experience includes serving as Ministerial Assistant to BC Energy Minister Jack Davis, Director and Executive Director with the BC Ministry of Energy, BC Ministry of Finance and BC Ministry of Employment and Investment. From 1996 to 2002 Shawn served as Vice President and Senior Vice President at BC Hydro, followed by three years as National Vice President with TELUS Corporation. Since 2006, Shawn has provided a range of clients with expertise in business development and negotiations with a specific focus on independent power project development and First Nations engagement and advocacy.

 

Hiroki Ashizawa
Senior Vice President, (Asia)

Hiroki Ashizawa brings over 30 years of experience to the RPPH team. As a civil engineer and architect, he has worked on a wide range of large-scale construction projects across Asia and has extensive experience with business development in the region. Mr. Ashizawa is currently heads up client relations and business development opportunities in Southeast Asia and Japan.

 

Mark Grant
Government Relations and Public Affairs

Mark joined the Rupert Peace team in January of 2009 as the Director of Government Relations and Public Affairs. He has extensive experience at both the Federal and Provincial levels of government, having worked as an advisor to the BC Minister of Forests and to the BC Minister of Education. These positions have provided him with a strong first-hand knowledge of the BC government, how it operates and who the key decision makers are. Mark has also worked on Parliament Hill for an Ontario Member of Parliament and most recently served as the Executive Director of the BC wing of the Liberal Party of Canada. His political background provides Rupert Peace with the necessary experience needed to navigate the regulatory issues required by Federal and Provincial levels of government.
