Rupert Peace Power Holdings takes a unique approach to working with aboriginal communities. Our business interests are as diversified as the First Nations that we work with. RPPH understands that each First Nation community has different needs and unique skills to bring to a project. Our approach is to work with each nation as a partner, not simply another stakeholder. We recognize that all of our projects are within the traditional territories of numerous First Nations and we strive to respect this fact.
Through traditional use studies, to oral history, all communities we work with are able to provide RPPH with a solid understanding of the land on which we want to develop. This information is tremendously valuable to the long-term viability of any project.
RPPH is consistently working with Treaty 8 First Nations such as West Moberly, Saulteau and McLeod Lake. We have reached out to the Kelly Lake communities for input and advice. We have a strong relationship with the Lax Kw'alaam’s on the North Coast, and are starting to work with Hartley Bay as well as the Tahltan Tribal Council. As our projects advance so will our first nation partnerships and we will take the same open, straight-forward approach of developing partnerships with as many first nations as possible.
