We have carefully selected Ecosystems Consulting LLP as our primary environmental consultant as we were really struck by their passion and professionalism. One key point in their philosophy rang home to us –they won’t greenwash projects for petrochemical companies as they are only interested in doing the right thing, which is why we are a “renewable energy company” rather than an “energy company”.

Our environmental consultants work with the brief that they are guiding us in our aim to impact the big picture, whilst protecting the local ecosystems from damage. Every action (and inaction) of mankind has an impact somewhere. We constantly question the impacts our activities have on the ecosystems that we work within. We accept that the different phases of work will result in different challenges, but are keen to minimise risks associated with our projects. Ignoring completely the big picture of CO2 emissions etc, renewable energy production facilities cause a fraction of the immediate ecosystem damage associated with large scale hydro, oil, gas and coal production. And once produced, no road or rail transportation, just a fixed line, no oil leaks, gas issues or climate changing emissions. We don’t let the big picture over-ride our local issues though; we want our sites to have as little long term impact on the environment as possible.
