Nomis Power Corp. developed the Nahwitti project nearly 10 years ago and the project has moved from an initial idea into a bid ready wind development that will benefit many sectors on the North Island. With a slumping forest sector, a resource that the North Island has been heavily dependent upon for decades, the Nahwitti Wind Farm will help create new jobs for people in the surrounding regions. Local construction jobs will be created during build-out and technical jobs have played a role through the contracting of local engineering for the road infrastructure and overall site design.

The Nahwitti project has the largest volume of wind data collected amongst all of our projects to date. The wind resource is strong and viable, which will make this a tremendous project when fully built-out. $8 million has been invested to date with a further $400 million (est.) required to complete the project.
